Project overview and evaluation:
The Okinawa Prefecture has set “Reconstruction to be Seen (reconstruction open to the public)” as one of the basic measures in the “Shurijo Castle rehabilitation master plan” and is working to create opportunities for park visitors to learn about and deepen their understanding of Ryukyu history and culture and the reconstruction status of Shurijo Castle through various experiences related to the reconstruction work.
The Okinawa General Bureau, Shuri Branch Office, which is in charge of the reconstruction work of Shurijo Castle Seiden, has been promoting the reconstruction work as a “now-only-see” opportunity to effectively promote understanding of the project.
In addition, the strategic approach not only to the reconstruction project phase but also to the management of the facility after the project was completed, was highly evaluated, including the contribution to tourism and regional development even during the reconstruction work, the collaboration with students and participation of visitors.
We received the following five projects in 2022 to 2023, and contributed to the realization of “Reconstruction to be Seen” by being involved in the exhibition planning of the tour areas, the production of exhibits and videos, planning and operation of citizen participation events, and various information dissemination.
