Company-wide paperless initiatives
Our company consumes about 8 million A4 sheets of copy paper per year. To protect the limited forest resources and precious forest ecosystem, we started the "Let's Go Paperless" initiative to reduce the use of copy paper in May, 2009.
Our goal is to reduce the amount of copy paper used by 20% in 2021 and by 50% in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Cooperation in seasonal biological monitoring surveys
The Center for Climate Change Adaptation of the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) is cooperating with the "Biological Seasonal Monitoring Survey" started in 2021 to assess the impact of climate change and other environmental changes on plants and animals.
We have 50 employees from 8 prefectures from Sapporo to Fukuoka registered as surveyors to observe and report the flowering date, first sighting date, etc. of the organisms to be surveyed.
We are also working with the National Institute for Environmental Studies to create a survey manual that is easy for citizens to use in preparation for the start of this survey in the next fiscal year.
